Unit has lot of plastic in it, and as soon as it warmed up, it filled the room with noxious burnt plastic odor. Smell did not dissipate after several weeks. APC sent a replacement which was also a bit smelly, but better. I had to pay the return shipping

3 BR1500 XS units bought 3 years ago. 2 still standing. 1 was replaced under warranty with a BR1500 XR (better unit). Apparently there are problems with the XS units. They tend to fail without remedy but haven't harmed any hardware connected
