Like other multifunctional cylinder carpet cleaners, this Vax 6131 can wash carpets as well as vacuum them like a traditional vacuum cleaner. We tried this Vax carpet cleaner in both wet and dry modes to see whether it would perform as well as its rivals.

We have had ours for approx 4 years and I am surprised by the rather poor review. I have found that ours has plenty of suction for ordinary dry cleaning of wood and carpeted flooring. I agree that changing over to wet cleaning is a bit laborious but...

Really happy with this carpet cleaner. Excellent suction and love the sofa/stairs attachment. Highly recommend.

Easy to use , it is a bit of a pain that you have to clip the water pipe all along the hose ! and the washer head does fall off sometimes, but overall washes carpets good.

Refurbished but looks and works like new, perfect job of hall carpet!
