Great image quality, close ups are awesome ; Previously I was using the 18-55mm kit lens and this lens is a good step up when increasing my shutter speed. So far I'm loving it

The AF does search in low light, mostly a pain because the focus range is so big! I use MF in lowlight, but should it be noted that if AF gets lost it has a long road to travel down and back

auto focus a little slow, but not a problem when you consider that most photographers are searching mostly for image quality.

This lens is sharp, and the af is good. Considering what you get, and how much better it performs than the starter lens, it is money well spent. Just Don't expect the quality of a $1600.00 lens for this price.

The Autofocus could be better, but it doesn't kill the usefulness of the lens.

Not a true macro, requires $250 extender to get true 1:1 macro.
