Samsung LN46A650

Samsung's LN46A650 ($1800 as of November 4, 2008--$100 more than its older sibling, the LN46A550, but significantly less than two other competing 46-inch sets, the Sharp Aquos LC-46D64U and the Panasonic TH-46PZ800U) is a joy to use from the moment you...

Reasonable price Fantastic remote design

Mediocre sound Setting sound modes is tricky

The LN46A650 is a fine HDTV. Its stellar design and ease of use make it just the thing for viewers who appreciate both form and function

Samsung LN52A650

Samsung's LN52A650 dares to be different. In a world of me-too, glossy black flat-panel HDTVs, no few of which may bear the company's own logo, this 52-inch LCD is dressed in red. Like many radical design choices, you'll either love it or hate it, and...

Superb black-level performance; highly accurate color; improved 120Hz de-judder video processing; fine standard-definition processing; broad selection of picture setup options; can display weather, news, and stock info onscreen; energy-efficient...

Relatively expensive; red-colored frame isn't for everyone; shiny screen reflects ambient room lighting; some artifacts when de-judder modes are engaged; awkward click wheel remote

If you don't mind its red frame, the Samsung LN52A650 LCD TV will reward you with a massive feature set and excellent picture quality.

Samsung LN-52A650 LCD TV Review

Among the four leading display technologies, DLP™, LCD™, D-ILA™ and Plasma™, LCD™ is taking over in the category of flat screen televisions. The winning factors are its sleek and slim design, a deep black level in the picture, and invention of new...

Samsung LN52A650™ is very well designed, has advanced features which are parallel with digital display technology and is in compliance with the new digital broadcast regulations to be implemented on February 17, 2009.

Great TV until it fails after 16 months!!!!

Our local TV repair guy, who knows these TVs well, diagnosed the problem to the "display controller board", which he tells me cannot be replaced because there's no part number for it and I'd have to buy the entire LCD panel for $900+. We paid $1700 for...

Great all around TV. We've been very happy with it for just over a year. UNTIL

The TV failed to turn on one day. Diagnosis from local TV guy could result in $1,000 repair. Even though it's out of warranty by only 6 months, Samsung won't cover it. In automotive terms, this TV WOULD BE A LEMON

Great! Until the Warranty Runs out

I bought this TV last February and it came with a 1-year warranty... 14 months later this thing goes on the fritz. The power starts flicking on and off repeatedly.

Great for the first year

less than 2 months after the Warranty ran out, so did the life of the TV

I got a LEMON and Samsung won't replace it!

I've had 3 different problems with this TV since October 2009 (wouldn't power on, powers off and back on randomly by itself, big green bar down the right side of the screen). I've had the IP board, 2 power boards, the main PCB assembly, the LVDS cable,...

Fantastic picture when it works

Three different problems with the TV that Samsung warranty repair has not been able to fix, and now they refuse to replace the TV

This one delviers quality for the price.

I bought this TV about 18 months ago to watch football and Nascar and it has not disappointed. The picture quality is awesome. Images pop both off my old cable HD box and my new Dish HD DVR. This set is in a very bright room and the blacks soak up that...

Picture quality ; Colors ; Refresh rate ; Blackest black

Remote control could be improved ; Speaker quality could be improved

It's Been Fantastic For Me

I've loved the quality of this TV since the day I bought it- and I paid $2,300 for this thing locally about a year ago. 120hz is great for sports. Disappointed that VGA input doesn't work, but Samsung is willing to get someone out here to fix it..I'm...

Crisp/Vibrant Picture, Great Standard Def Quality, Battery Life (j/k)

Worked for 1.3 yrs (just enough for warranty to expire)

Can you rate 0 stars? Don't buy this TV unless to like getting the run around and bad advice from customer service. Taking half days off work to deal with this is stupid. Hopefully my experience is unique, but from what I've read on consumer reports...

Beautiful picture for 1.3 yrs. TV now shuts itself off and green and pink horizontal lines consume the TV rendering it useless. Samsung customer service is the worst I've ever had to deal with. Thankfully I purchased the 4 yr extended warranty

Whoever thought to put the speakers facing behind the TV is an idiot. They get no stars. Bad customer service. Give me someone who has a clue please. Wish I would have done more homework before purchase
