Newegg Rocks!!

Silent. Cool running. Practically instant seeks. 100% compatiblity with Thinkpad T61. Works fine over AHCI with linux on this laptop.

Poor write speed. Poor per char performance.

beware of the cheap SATA connector

 

I would have expected something as simple as a SATA connector to be within spec, especially on a product as pricey as this

Fast read access time

Write access times are about 80ms (inherent to current flash drive designs) SATA connector is too thin - all SATA cables tried slip off from the slightest touch, after transporting industrial PC, BIOS won't find drive
