Bowers & Wilkins PX review: ANC and audiophile talents combine in these knock-out over-ears

Bowers & Wilkins first attempt at active noise-cancelling wireless headphones are accomplished and clever, they come with tonnes of tech but it is the

Four levels of active noise-cancellation ; Beautiful design notes ; Super soundstage with control over clarity and bass in equal measure ; Wear sensor that switches them off when not in use

Foldable design could have been adopted ; Pricier than some already direct rivals

The ANC-capable wireless headphones market has grown rapidly in recent times, so it makes great sense for Bowers & Wilkins to enter at this point. It does have some major rivals though, most notably in the recently announced

Bowers & Wilkins PX review

Bowers & Wilkins rarely disappoints when it comes to headphones and it now offers wireless and noise cancelling. Here's our review of the PX headphones.

For its first attempt at noise cancelling headphones Bowers & Wilkins has done an amazing job. By incorporating elements of the outstanding P9 Signature headphones in a compact and portable design, the PX are the best sounding wireless headphones we’ve...

Bowers & Wilkins PX review: A stylish, understated alternative to Bose

Beautiful design, effective noise-cancelling, and an understated, relaxed sound – only comfort qualms hold the PX back

Gorgeous looks ; Adjustable noise-cancellation works well ; Balanced, natural sound

Headband is uncomfortable for long periods ; Treble is a tad soft

The PX delivers just that, and its combination of good sound quality, capable noise-cancelling circuitry and attractive design are marred only by those qualms about long-term comfort. Right now, I like the PX a great deal. If the comfort issues...

Bowers & Wilkins PX review: wireless noise-canceling nirvana

These headphones have no right to sound as good as they do while being as practical as they are

Best sound from noise-canceling headphones ; Plentiful battery life ; USB-C charging and connection versatility ; Durable and attractive design ; Headphones pause automatically when you take them off

Sound can be a bit too edgy and forward for listening at home ; More comfortable when worn on the move than sat in front of a desk ; Automatic pause can be finicky ; Bluetooth pairing is as nightmarish as most other wireless cans

Before the B&W PX, Sony’s 1000X were the headphones that I could most readily and casually grab on my way out the door. There were never any worries with those headphones about the sound or the fit proving fatiguing over the course of a full day. I...

Bowers & Wilkins PX

The Bowers & Wilkins PX wireless headphones are a rare misfire from the iconic audio company, with buggy operation and audio performance that changes when the noise cancellation is enabled.

Powerful audio performance with rich bass and crisp highs. Comfortable, stylish design. Cable included for wired use. Noise cancellation can be turned off. App allows for nuanced NC adjustments.

Expensive. Glitchy in testing. NC changes audio performance noticeably. Can't be used in wired passive mode—cable requires power.

Let's hope this is an early hiccup for the new team leading B&W. Since we tested two pairs, we're confident that we at least had an experience that will be similar to what customers will encounter, though it's possible we were sent two defective units....

Bowers & Wilkins PX review

  (Cijfer Verborgen)

These high-end over-ear headphones from Bowers & Wilkins have three adaptive noise-cancelling settings to cut out background sounds. The PX headphones are clever, too - they will automatically turn on when you put them on, and return to standby mode...

B&W PX headphones will let you enjoy music in total peace

Can headphones be wireless, nose-canceling, AND good?

Great sound ; Stellar noise cancellation ; Tons of features

Some dubious design choices ; Some bugs

The B&W PX headphones are pretty great, but the sound, the build and the features all have tiny kinks which may be dealbreakers for some.

Bowers & Wilkins PX Headphones Review

The active noise cancelling headphone market is where HiFi meets real life and it's the turn of Bowers & Wilkins to see how best to balance these...

Truly outstanding wireless and noise cancelling performance ; Well built ; Excellent specifications

Can sound a little 'cupped' when used wired ; Exerts a fairly high pressure on the head ; Carry case is slightly cramped

This is a keenly contested market and in my time testing a few different models, a design compromise has become increasingly apparent. Some designs are first and foremost about noise cancelling. The builders accept that the level of processing they...
